Atomic and molecular physics is the study of atoms and molecules and it’s also the field of specialization in the physics. Atomic and molecular physics it the study of the properties, dynamics and interactions of the basic (but not fundamental) building blocks of matter. Matter, whatever the states, is made of atoms. The properties of all matters are governed by the electronic structure of atom and molecule. They have individual properties like electronic, magnetic and optical properties, which are quite different from the collective properties of matter made of atoms and molecules. Atomic, molecular is the study of matter-matter and light-matter interactions; at the scale of one or a few atoms and energy scales around several electron volts.
