Plastic Deformation:

Plastic Deformation: Photo

Plastic distortion is the phenomenon in which the material is permanently distorted when it is subjected to stresses like compressive, bending, tensile, torsion, etc that exceed its yield strength and cause it to elongate, bend and twist. The best examples which explain the plastic deformation are bending of steel rod under tension or breaking the glass under compression.
